What is Advanced Wound Healing?
Advanced wound healing treatments are intended to help those who have been impacted by something more significant than a traditional injury. They may benefit those who have failed to see results from traditional wound care. Typical chronic wounds that we treat are:
- Venous Stasis Ulcers
- Peripheral Arterial Disease Ulcers
- Diabetic Ulcers
- Pressure Ulcers
- Surgical wounds
- Skin tears from falls or scrapes
- Gangrene
- Osteomyelitis
- Burns
To make complicated wounds like these heal as quickly as possible while reducing infection and scarring, Dr. Shaheen provides smart-technology human allografts, collagen and honey-based wound dressings, debridement techniques, wound-VAC therapy, and advanced compression services to achieve optimal results.
All patients are assessed and treated for nutritional and blood flow deficiencies in order to create an ideal wound microenvironment to heal complex wounds. For the most challenging cases, we partner with vetted Home Health agencies and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) to avoid hospital admission.
Considering Advanced Wound Healing?
Do you have a chronic wound from a medical condition, surgical site, or trauma? Have traditional healing methods been unable to help you experience the comprehensive healing you need? At Shaheen Vascular, we are pleased to offer a range of advanced wound healing treatments that include top of the line medical technology to encourage your body’s healing, promote healthy tissues, and prevent amputations.
We Offer Different Treatment Options
Advanced compression services promote better lymphatic function in treatment areas. Allografts are sterile human donated grafts used to help heal complex wounds. Wound debridement is a surgical method that involves the removal of necrotic tissue (dead tissue), biofilm, and other debris from a wound. Wound care VAC treatment, or wound vacuum-assisted closure treatment, changes the pressure around a wound.

Dr. Raymond Shaheen MD, FACS, RPVI, RPHS
After completing his General Surgical training at Stanford University, Dr. Shaheen completed his Vascular and Endovascular Surgical training at Northwestern University. He initially began practice in Monterey where he quickly grew his practice incorporating the innovative, minimally-invasive procedures often in combination with traditional surgical procedures. Although he still maintains a presence in Monterey, he was recruited by El Camino Hospital in Mountain View in late 2006 to fill a strong community need for a specialist with his training and experience. In Mountain View, he has had the good fortune to gain the trust of patients and colleagues and has also grown quickly to offer a full service vascular surgical practice. In addition to his superior vascular services, Dr. Shaheen also offers a range of specialized aesthetic services through his practice extension Advanced BioSculpt. Given his high spirit of collaboration, he has been well known to work jointly with other interventionists in order to offer patients innovative hybrid procedures that are not frequently performed at other institutions.
